At the courts of Louis XIII and Louis XIV in 17th-century France, enjoying airs de cour, or courtly airs, was a favorite pastime. These secular pieces for voice and lute or theorbo, often on pastoral themes, are characterized by their charm and simplicity of expression. Tenor Corey Shotwell joins In Stile Moderno to explore the delights of this repertoire in a new program, featuring songs by Étienne Moulinié, Sébastien le Camus, Joseph Chabanceau de La Barre, and others.

Baroque guitars, theorbo and archlute join forces with voice, cornetto, recorder and percussion, in a celebration of 17th-century Italian music. We are delighted to welcome back Cameron Welke and Dan Meyers to build our Baroque rhythm section of percussion and plucked instruments, above which the voice, cornetto, and recorder weave plaintive or light-hearted melodies. Both the delights and the pains of love are celebrated and lamented in an enchanting evening of music.
